I've been trying to get to TechCrunch for the last 5 minutes and a "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.techcrunch.com." Is anyone else seeing this?

This doesn't have anything to do with social networking but it's an important social issue. More and more women today use formula instead of breast feeding. Also, many many women negatively judge other women who choose to breast feed. This article should help women understand the benefits of breast feeding both to the child and to the mother.

RedHat 108 and Mugshot

RedHat just introduced two social networking sites ( Mugshot and 108 ). RedHat calls Mugshot a way to add "live social experiences" to desktop applications. There's more information on the Mugshot FAQ and the developer wiki. Apparently, Mugshot currently has Activities that, on the surface, appear to provide digg and del.icio.us like functionality via the Link Swarm and a method for people to share their music playlists via the Music Radar.

108 is meant to focus on the developer community. I'm not sure if 108 is built off the Mugshot code base.

Once the code is available for general download, I'm sure people will be looking to create their own versions of MySpace.

I'm not sure what the underlying technology for Mugshot is, nor am I clear on how this will affect the Manusya Project going forward.

Sorry

Folks, I'm sorry. The last two months have been very busy and I haven't had much time to devote to anything other than cleaning some documentation and looking for others interested in working on the project with me. I've found one person that might be somewhat interested. It would be great if I can get him on board because I think he'll ahve some very interesting ideas and views on the project. I'll keep you updated and I hope to have more time to devote to the project next month.
